‘Twilight Trains’ presentation of a HORNBY special commission 1 of only 3 proto-types commissioned, LNER A4 ‘GARGANEY’ This is the latest china-made, loco-drive, Dcc Ready, A4 locomotive available.
Boxed new, the loco has been reengineered as a single chimney LNER A4 circa 1938. This is a very expensive and time consuming procedure, therefore we have decided not to release this as a limited edition of 25. This prototype bodyshell, has been renamed & numbered by leading Super Detailing specialists 'PEASHOLM MODELS'. Finished as LNER number 4500 running in Garter blue and named ‘GARGANEY’ using etched brass nameplates .The loco comes with a signed, numbered Certificate of Authenticity as proof of alteration, detailed inner sleeve, replacement pony wheels, and instructions.
This is only one of the 3 prototypes submitted for the possible completion of the limited edition run of 25 locomotives presented as 4499 Pochard. This model is brand new and has only been removed from the box for the reengineering of the chimney, renaming and renumbering. This bodyshell is unique as far as all the components (including single chimney) are all new Hornby components, and a single chimney A4 in LNER garter blue (China loco drive) has, at the time of writing, yet to be produced. Combine this with an exceptional piece of artwork from our Peasholm models stable, and the very high standards of our presentations, it makes this loco highly collectable.
Only 3 prototypes have been produced, all of which are in private collections.
